Church
of Satan
If
the church of Satan opened a sacrificial temple on the corner of your
block with a large pitchfork instead of a steeple, your
religious neighbors would be outraged. But not
outraged enough. The "Christian community" would likely cower
in shame while the political correctness mavens advocate in
support. Many of your neighbors would visit the
dark rituals out of curiosity and some would join to be "cool."
Of course Satan is usually not quite that blatant. He's
becoming bolder all the time but for now he prefers a more subtle
approach. Satan is a master
counterfeiter: "For such are false apostles,
deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of
Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is
transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is
no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of
righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." (2
Corinthians 11:13-15) The most dangerous
of Satan's lies is religion. Religion pulls you away from the
simple grace of God and puts you on a performance based treadmill.
The most blatant of religions that call themselves "Christian" is the
Catholic Church. Pope Paul VI, November 21, 1962
(Vatican II) said that the Catholic church is the only way to
salvation. He said that baptism is the "door" into the church
(the Catholic church exclusively). He said that a person
could not be saved apart from the Catholic church.
However, John 10:9 makes it clear that Jesus is the
only door into heaven. Acts 4:12 proclaims that
that salvation is exclusively through Jesus Christ. There is
no other way. Ephesians 2:8-10 spells out the
futility of works and explains that the grace of god is received only
through the faith that God gifts you with.
Almost all organized churches and denominations have bought into the
performance based religion lie. Ask yourself the following
question: What am I doing to earn God's mercy, or Pastor
Biff's approval? God's mercy and grace is not for
sale and Pastor Biffs approval will not help you connect with
God.
Jesus came to set us free.
Freedom from sin,
Freedom from religion,
Freedom from guilt:
Freedom, Free Indeed.
